Susanne Read |
Susanne was born in Vienna/Austria in 1956 where she lived until November of 2004. In November of 2004, following an extra ordinary set of circumstances, Susanne moved to the United States and now calls Breese Illinois home. Susanne has always been very artistic and received her initial taste of the arts during her high school years. Her artistic interests took the back seat for many years as she raised children and was employed full time by a major US company with an operating location in Vienna Austria. In the mid 1980's Susanne rekindled her interest in the arts and started first with painting ceramics. She studied for approximately 3 years under a well respected Austrian ceramics artist who specialized in traditional Austrian painting techniques. After these three years of instruction, the instructor told Susanne that she couldn't teach her anything else. It was at this point, that Susanne further enhanced her techniques by experimenting with different brushes, strokes, paints and media. Susanne has painted a full spectrum of different styles, ranging from traditional Austrian Blue and White wares, Modern, Art Nouveau, and Realistic styles just to name a few... She has painted on many different medias including ceramic, glass, porcelain and canvas. Susanne has been teaching students to paint ceramics, porcelain and glass for over ten years in Vienna and the United States and has never met anyone that she couldn't teach to paint. Susanne’s finished paintings have been featured in many large scale public exhibitions showcasing Austria and Europe’s finest artists. About the Displayed Items: Additional Information |
